Today’s special episode of the pod is YOUR invitation to an exciting new offer from The Outside. Tuesday is launching a four-part workshop for women on Navigating Transformation. This is our call to all the KICK-ASS women out there who are looking for what’s next, what’s different and wanting more. Join us. We kick off on October 25th.
SHOW NOTES:
Gabrielle: We have an exciting announcement! Tuesday is launching, “Navigating Transformation: A Four Part Workshop for Women.” We wanted to pop on and have a bit of a conversation to tell you about it and to invite those of you who are feeling the call to join but also to hear about Tuesday's story, the incredible work that you've been in, and the process you've been in to get to this point.
Tues: This is a mini journey in transformation that’s coming up soon - it’s going to be on Wednesday evenings from 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm Eastern Time on October 25th, November 1st, November 8th and November 15th.
Tues: Of course we can't completely transform in four weeks - no one expects that - but what I'd like to provide for people is a blueprint as you are transforming whether you're just starting or whether you're in the middle. I'm going to take us through an arc so we can learn about each step and we can then use it going forward for ourselves.
Tues: I would love for folks to join me with the idea that we are launching a community of women who are kick ass; who are doing life, who are really looking for what's next, what’s different, maybe they're having a call to something more and they need to be with other women to express or actualize it. This four part workshop will really set up a cohort I'm planning to launch in the Winter/Spring of 2024. This is your chance to get in on the ground floor and to impact what I offer in the Winter/Spring. For those who join this mini series, you will get a discount to the larger cohort.
Tues: I’ve been through a number of transformations - I left my marriage of over 20 years, we launched The Outside (TO) almost exactly at the same time so I'm not a person who is immune or doesn't know about transformation… but in the last two years there's just been a sense for me that my work needs to shift and I haven't been able to say exactly how but I remember last year I kind of walked into a TO Leadership Team meeting and I was like, “something has to change in my work; I do not know how, I'm just kind of letting you know that, friends.” And so that was really scary because it feels like this thing I know how to do, this skill that I've built for 20 years, this orientation of making change in the world, all felt up for grabs and so in the last year I've really allowed myself to dive deep into what it is that I want to do. What is my “what’s next?”
Tues: I've just had to kind of sink more deeply into myself… and when I say myself, I mean myself with a capital “S.” Who am I deeply and what is my expression? In this workshop we're going to go through an arc - the arc that I’ve been in - which is getting grounded into yourself and into your Source. So I think it's worth saying there is a spiritual or a devotional component to this that I'll be bringing because that first step is coming back down and into who you are deeply. The second session is Letting Yourself Go - your ideas of yourself and what does that look like and so like really shedding some of your deeply held ideas. One of mine might be being a doer in the world; making big change. The third session is Finding Yourself. What is it that you stand for? What is a non-negotiable? What are the new, tender things you didn't even know about yourself? And then beginning to integrate that. The last session is Wholeness and your Whole Self and integration.
Tues: I'm leaning back into several traditions I want to name and as I name them I want to remind people that my background is social work and social justice. I work in Art of Hosting and Participatory Leadership, in Complexity Theory, in Living Systems Theory. All of that is feeding into this. It won't maybe be front and center in what the offer is but they're the core of who I am so that is certainly present. If I think about teachers or lineages, I have been really deeply dedicated to learning about Tantra lineage and my teacher there was Sally Kempton, who recently passed in July, but she brought me into feminine divinity and the feminine way of being devoted and understanding the cosmos. Another real teacher of mine - although I don't have a direct relationship with her - is Martha Beck who talks a lot about integrity and really beginning to know who you are and live from that place. She’s a huge influence on me. I work with a medicine woman named Athena Naia out of British Columbia. She has training in the Amazon with the Shipibo people. I work with a mentor, Venessa Rodriguez, who works with the Akashic Records. I am certainly actively seeking support from people who have understanding, lineages, and what I've learned about change over the last twenty years. One could say that Toke Moeller is certainly influencing this particular bit of work.
Tues: Embodiment will also be really important in this Workshop. We are going to be in our bodies - for me that is kind of inherently Feminine. And I mean that in terms of Energetic. I know this might be hard for people… sometimes as we think about the masculine as like the witness, the kind of cerebral, the intellectual, the ascendant. Feminine is like the kind of moving down into your body, moving down into Mother Earth. We’re going to talk about concepts; both some spiritual concepts with some super mainstream concepts about change. We're going to move our bodies. We're going to do practices that help us understand ourselves and each other. We’re going to move into some intuitive - how do you access your intuition and a deeper knowing and deeper guidance - and we're going to share stories and be actually in community together.
Tues: To participate in the Workshop, you don't have to be at the beginning of a transformation, you can be in the middle, you can just have passed through one. Maybe you're at the place of just a little bit of an itch of like, “I don't know, maybe not this,” or “something's not right in my life; I want change," or “I'm feeling change calling me,” or “I'm in the middle of change and I don't know what to do next,” or “I feel stuck.” It is for anyone who has their mind toward needing, wanting, seeking or understanding that change is happening at a personal [or professional] level for them.
Tues: I do say women because it feels important to me. We are going to build a community of kindreds and so it feels important to me that one of the gateways is that you feel womanness is in your identity, if you can honestly answer that womanness feels like part of how you walk in the world and how you think about transformation and that what you're in right now has a context of womanness. We're going to talk about that. We're going to talk about what it means to be in your devotion to yourself and others and Source. That’s going to be central to the conversation. I welcome people, if you have a question about this, to reach out to me directly around whether you'd like to join and how that feels for you.
Tues: I am most looking forward to the community that will be brought together; it’s both the thing I'm most looking forward to and the thing that surprises me most. When I imagine the women all coming together, I just feel delighted. I feel like I have no idea what will happen but I want you all to meet each other. The people who come are going to make the program and it's going to be great!! If I have any nervousness, it’s that this is right on my edge; like some of the practices I'm going to bring are right on my edge. We're going to be doing some different, unique, fun, and edge pushing stuff and so that has me on my edge in the best way.
