We’re excited to announce that Gian Paul Ganzoni, Organizational Development Strategist, with The Outside is offering a limited number of executive coaching spots!
Overview: Gian Paul’s Experience
Gian Paul brings over 25 years of experience in in-house corporate and non-profit roles. Early in his career, he devoted numerical, analytical and managerial skills in various Operations Officer positions within a world-class reinsurance company (Swiss Re). In early 2004, he switched his focus to people as a success factor for good work. He held various Human Resource Business Partner roles, acted as Head of Human Resources and was Head of Organizational Effectiveness responsible in Swiss Re for the global HR Center of Expertise. In that role, he supported Swiss Re with Leadership Development, Learning, Strategic Resourcing and Talent Management and Inclusion & Engagement.
Between 2017 and early 2021, he was the Head of Organizational Change at the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), based in Geneva with a global staff of 18,000 people. He led the ICRC’s Organizational Development and Change Management practice supporting larger transformations, connecting them with strategies and securing alignment with its future organizing logic.
Since 2021, he has supported a variety of non-profit organizations as an Organizational Development Strategist. He complements strategy development processes and coaching by supporting and facilitating dialogue to equip organizations to implement their ambitions. His Organizational Development interventions are inspired by Nature (Biomimicry).

Timing

Perspective on Coaching, Strategy and Organizational Development
Gian Paul’s passion lies in working with very different cultural and sectorial settings to enable people and organizations to succeed. People deserve to be heard, and their thinking to be constructively challenged with the aim of equipping them with missing elements enabling them to achieve their ambitions. He listens and probes to ensure clarity exists on the context and related implications his clients operate in. Together, he and his clients establish ambitious, yet realistic goals, which Gian Paul then supports with the methods required to be successful.
Coaching is bespoke to the needs of each coachee, anchored in a trusted relationship. Based on our initial get-to-know-each-other conversation, I’m confident we will be able to establish such a relationship.

Practicalities
Gian Paul has found that a good foundation can be laid and a lot can be achieved over a period of 5 coaching sessions. This period allows us to build a relationship and understand his fit in personality and methods with the coachee. Therefore an initial arrangement with him aims for 5 x one-hour coaching sessions which typically take place every 3 to 4 weeks allowing sufficient time for reflection, preparation, and integration.
During the first coaching session, he will agree on the topics you wish to explore with him and we will conclude on successful outcomes. This agreement will serve as a thread to connect and plan our conversations and inform the examples and knowledge he will offer you to respond to your challenges/opportunities. Typically each one of the consecutive four conversations is dedicated to a specific subject. To prepare for such a session we will agree on questions for you to reflect on, paired with additional pre-reading material he will provide.
